Audible Beauty is my little web site devoted to my love of all things audible in movies, especially the music.
I have music snippets and quotes from Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, and Moulin Rouge. I try my best to find the most beautiful and compelling musical themes (in 20 seconds or less) to be used on your desktop. The quotes too I hope are some of the best lines from these wonderful films

Sun Dec 16, 2012 4:42 pm - Having seen The Hobbit - An Unexpected Journey twice, I'm already selecting my favorite music themes. Completed today is a full version of the "Misty Mountains" song by Thorin and his dwarf company first heard in the trailer. This is of course from a poem by J.R.R. Tolkien with the music composed by members of the talented Plan 9 Music (who also created the delightful music during Bilbo's party in Fellowship of the Ring). Find it on the Hobbit page (which given future installments may need to be renamed for only Unexpected Journey at some point...)
Thu Sep 20, 2012 10:41 pm - Have you seen the new Hobbit Trailer? A plethora of great things to anticipate! New quotes have been added to the Hobbit page. As for trailer music, I understand Immediate Music created some custom work for this one which I'll try and research in due time.
Tue Mar 13, 2012 9:37 pm - While I had not yet been impressed by anything in 3D, seeing Star Wars: Episode I--The Phantom Menace on the big screen again after thirteen(!) years was worth the price of admission. And the 3D wasn't that bad at all. It was interesting to note that lines used in the trailers (which I may have watched a million times or more) still stand out. Enjoy the nostalgia yourself with sounds from the Phantom Menace.

Sat Apr 09, 2011 9:15 pm - A few new sounds from Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back. Goodness gracious, if the file dates are to be believed first new ones in over 3 years!! I'm still working on updating news feeds and the forum style, but soon there will be alternatives like Facebook and maybe even Twitter (still on the fence for that one) to hear the latest.

Unfortunately now the news items on the home page are broken for the moment, working on a solution soon as I can. All posts and user accounts should have been carried over, don't hesitate to drop a note here if they were not.
Thu Jun 10, 2010 5:11 pm - Miracles do happen. Today I completed a simple refresh of the site design with a new logo graphic and some tweaks using CSS. It's all in preparation to get back to more regular updates. I have abandoned projects it seems all over the place, so there is plenty to do even if the franchises featured here are fading into memory now...
Sat Sep 19, 2009 12:22 pm - How fondly do I remember the early days when I was busy teaching myself new and wonderful web things, getting excited about lovely Lord of the Rings things (or Star Wars, or whatever)! Obviously, updates and additions have slowed to almost nothing around here. Fear not, nothing will ever be abandoned like so many web sites, but it may be awhile still until I return to a similar rhythm as before. I remain interested in music, audio, web design and movies of course and someday soon I hope to be settled enough to take a comprehensive look at improvements!
